Senior Manager - Cloud Architect

We have an opportunity for a Senior Manager - Cloud Architect for one of our client.

Job Description:

- Extensive experience in developing and implementing cloud solutions encompassing Business Process, Data, Application and Integration components

- Ability to develop and implement multi-tier, high-availability architecture and design (for delivering superior performance, scalability, and agility) for comprehensive cloud solutions based on Microsoft, IBM, or Amazon's IAAS and PAAS offerings. Ability to select or define application development frameworks, coding standards, processes, ALM platforms and tools.

- Thorough understanding of technologies covering solution architecture, application architecture and infrastructure. Experience with Hybrid Cloud solutions and integrating public cloud into traditional hosting/delivery models.

- Must have implemented at least 3 cloud based enterprise projects and managed integration, deployment and application migration strategies.

- Experience with executing quick technical feasibility and proposal development for moving identified workloads to Azure/SoftLayer/AWS. Ability to manage infrastructure workloads including Apache, Zimbra, mail services, mailman newsgroup, LDAP directory, solar search, MySQL, MongoDB etc. in complex environments based on AWS, Azure or Bluemix/SoftLayer.

- Desirable to have experience/deep knowledge of some of the following technologies:

SoftLayer, Google Compute Engine, or Rackspace

VMware or Hyper V based private clouds

Scripting & Automation knowledge/skills (PowerShell/Puppet/Chef/JSON)

DevOps concepts and aspects, including automated build pipeline, continuous integration and continuous deployment

Cloud provisioning and configuration technologies (Teraform, Ansible, Packer, AWS cloudformation)

Container technology, the use cases and applications (Docker / Kubernetes)

Relational databases like DB2, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle

Design and implementation of an Office 365 environment

Application and infrastructure management and monitoring tools like Nagios, HP Openview and CA UIM

- Desirable to have either AWS solution architect Associate level certification or Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer: Azure Solutions Architect accreditation. Additionally, having any of the following is a plus:

TOGAF 9.1 Certification

AGILE Foundation Certification

ITIL Certification

SAFe Certification

- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate the value and relevance of solutions to customer executives and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

- Serve as the technical SME and provide thought leadership and technical design inputs for the development of comprehensive cloud solutions to be deployed in complex, heterogeneous environments. Act as the arbiter of decisions in specific areas of expertise.

- Contribute to the development of enterprise technology strategies, application development and deployment frameworks, and productivity improvement initiatives. Assist in platform/tools selection and ensure alignment with the organization's standards, policies and priorities.

- Document and share best practices in implementing cloud technology solutions; Promote asset re-use through the identification, evaluation and enhancement of reusable software artifacts and application components.

- Contribute to technical feasibility assessments of proposed cloud solutions; assess testing, integration and migration plans and suggest improvements where required

- Collaborate with other business units and leverage skilled resources and assets from across the organization to deliver top-notch cloud solutions; Develop and integrate appropriate security and access control mechanisms as required.

- Develop and maintain deep relations with Cloud platform vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, Amazon and Google and keep abreast of new directions and product strategy.

- Solicit new ideas and apply them in conjunction with advanced technical skills and domain expertise to develop innovative solutions for solving complex business problems

- Act as an evangelist for the adoption of global best practices to improve performance as measured by metrics such as availability, business agility, technology relevance, and cost optimization.
