Sr. Manager Climate Risk

Our client is one of the global banking firms which provides industry-focused services for clients across geographies. We are currently looking for a skilled professional to join their Global Climate Risk team in Bangalore.

Some of the key responsibilities will include :

- Contribute to the development of a climate scenarios knowledge base through research on the industry's best practices, regulatory developments, and academic insights.

- Design, build and evaluate existing controls for the scenario analysis pertaining to climate risk.

- Looking after the risk management strategies of the organization as per various climate scenarios such as IPCC, IEA, etc.

- Support the development of a climate database, including the sourcing and quality checking of internal and external data.

- Support teams across geographies in executing local climate risk related scenario analysis and stress testing.

To be eligible for this role you will require :

- 6 - 9 years of relevant experience in Credit Risk and Climate Risk Management domain, along with a wider knowledge about global climate risk policies and prevalent industry trends in the domain.

- Strong grasp of the governance, risk management and regulatory aspects in the banking industry pertaining to Climate Risk, along with a knowledge of Commercial, Retail, Corporate and Institutional portfolios, and products.

- Knowledge about the scope, capabilities, and limitations of all relevant climate risk models and ESG data providers.

- Experience in conducting stress testing and statistical model building (as per IRB, IFRS9 provisioning).

- Proficiency in Python, R and SAS.

- Strong skills in problem solving, communication, stakeholder management and project management.
