Looking to hire a HVAC head (AGM level) reporting to COO for a leading Infrastructure company to be based in Bangalore.
About:
- Hiring AGM / Sr Manager HVAC who will be responsible to lead and oversee the strategic planning, operations, and growth of the HVAC function for a commercial real estate development.
- This includes optimizing system performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving innovation in energy-efficient and sustainable practices, managing Capex budgets, and fostering team development.
- The role is responsible for aligning HVAC services with organizational goals, enhancing client satisfaction, and ensuring the successful execution of retrofit projects while maintaining cost control and operational efficiency.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Creating a roadmap that outlines the department's goals in alignment with the company's overall objectives for all HVAC systems.
- Analyse and improve HVAC services, equipment, and resources, this includes preparing for retrofit projects, expansions, or regulatory changes
- Negotiate strategic partnerships that can provide cost savings or competitive advantages.
- Work with Planning, Design and Construction Departments in remodeling, designing new construction projects and HVAC retrofit systems.
- Plan and develop HVAC capital renewal, and improvement projects in areas of responsibility.
- Study and interact with OEMs or meet with outside sales teams to introduce new equipment and ideas.
- Develop plans and/or review mechanical engineering designs for new Campus buildings, remodels, and infrastructure replacement related to HVAC.
- Develop comprehensive plans for HVAC installation, upgrades, and maintenance projects, outlining timelines, resource needs, and milestones.
- Lead and coordinate teams to ensure HVAC retrofit projects are executed on schedule, within budget, and to specification. This includes both and retrofits or upgrades in commercial, or residential projects.
- Implement quality control measures at all stages of the project lifecycle. Regular inspections and audits ensure systems meet performance standards and safety requirements.
- Work closely with construction, electrical, plumbing, and building management teams to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems within larger projects.
- Regularly review the performance of HVAC systems, tracking metrics such as energy consumption, system output, and fault frequencies. Use data to detect inefficiencies or potential breakdowns.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts when system failures occur, guiding technicians through diagnostics to identify the root cause of problems, whether mechanical, electrical, or control-related.
- Establish a checklist-based inspection process that ensures all critical HVAC components are regularly inspected and maintained.
- Comply with environmental regulations by implementing energy-saving measures that reduce the HVAC system's carbon footprint.
- Implement safety protocols to protect HVAC personnel from hazards such as electrical shocks, refrigerant leaks, and confined spaces. Ensure that all technicians follow OSHA and other relevant safety guidelines.
- Develop and maintain emergency response procedures for handling HVAC-related incidents, including system failures, fires, or refrigerant spills.
- Conduct regular safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure that the workplace and job sites adhere to safety standards. Address any findings with corrective actions, Continuously evaluate suppliers based on price, reliability, and quality of materials. Make adjustments to vendor contracts to optimize costs and ensure service continuity.
- Prepare detailed reports on system performance, project status with respect to any retrofit projects, and financial metrics for senior management and key stakeholders. Ensure transparency and proactive communication of any issues or risks.
- Develop and manage operational budgets for HVAC retrofit projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overheads. Ensure projects remain within budget
- Create financial forecasts based on upcoming projects, maintenance needs, and equipment replacement schedules, ensuring accurate long-term budgeting.
- Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to HVAC supervisors, technicians, and support staff. This includes monitoring job performance, ensuring adherence to company policies, and offering technical assistance where needed.
Minimum Requirement:
- BE/B.Tech : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning/Mechanical/Electrical & Electronics.
- M.Tech : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning - Preferred
- 10-15 years of experience in HVAC, with at least 3-5 years in a management or leadership role.
- Awareness on ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management System).
- Experience in working with LEED certified projects (Must)
