Senior Manager / Associate Director - Business Development - API (Africa, Middle East & Turkey)


This position reports to Regional Director - API Business Development. The Regional BD function is responsible for seeking new business opportunities across geography in API products and convert them into successful strategic partnerships, ensuring long term revenue generation, profit maximisation and create a better visibility of the organisation in the market.


The candidate will be expected to build market position by identifying, developing, and nurturing potential business leads and closing new business deals by developing and negotiating contracts. Also, the role demands to play a key role in managing relations with the internal and external stakeholders both in aligning the common goals.

Education:

- B. Sc. (Pharmacy / Bio Tech / related fields) or B.E. / B. tech (Chemical / Biotech / related field) and MBA / MSc. Pharmacy / Biotech

- Knowledge of regulatory aspects and issues related to the pharmaceutical industry

- Must understand pharmaceutical industry and a broad understanding of global markets

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Business Planning:

- Scout, develop and nurture potential business leads to strengthen market position

- Formulate business deals by contacting potential partners

- Nurture strategic accounts along with the Regional Director.

- Monitor the existing business models regularly and update it as per the market dynamics and conditions

- Closure of partnership deals and supply agreement.

- Work on business case proposals & financial models to execute deals for pharma products

Market Research:

- Work on market analysis, customers mapping & therapeutic analysis for scouting of new opportunities and deal reviews

- Benchmark trending pharma products for the region comprehensively

- Monitor competitors and their developments, identify, and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators Agreements/Contracts:

- Negotiates contracts, develop needs, and integrates contract requirements with corporate operations to close new business deals

- Evaluate acquisition opportunities

- Manage complex contract negotiations to develop long-lasting relations with customers

- Anchor deals and contract in partnership with legal, finance and other areas of organisation - API Commercial

Alliance Management:

- Collaborate with key partners and cross-functional teams and to ensure effective communication, efficient decision making, to support completion of deliverables in a timely manner

- Seek out new business within existing accounts and pursue opportunities with new business

- Develop and maintain relationships with potential partners ensuring timely closure of long-term contracts/agreements
