Senior Manager/AGM - Rim Design & Sourcing - Wheel Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities :

1. Interact with the regional and central product teams on tire/rim assembly opportunities

2. Design, Validation and Sourcing

- Prepare drawings of rims based on inputs from OEMs/After Markets

- Do load calculations and duty cycle based on inputs from OE/AM

- Prepare validation plans

- Coordinate for testing with relevant agencies

- Have an understanding of strength of materials, wheel manufacturing (deep drawing/ casting) and painting

- Communicate the rim technical requirements of OEMs/After Markets to the suppliers

- Work with suppliers to refine designs as required

- Negotiate best possible terms with suppliers including but not restricted to, pricing, warranty terms, RMI terms, payment terms, quality, etc.

- Work with tire teams within ATG and develop an optimized wheel-tire package for customers- needs

3. Preparation of Business Case

- Prepare business cases for assembly supply opportunities and present the same to management

4. Productionisation:

- Evaluate whether to do assemblies in-house or outsource

- For outsource, identify vendors, negotiate terms and do set-up

- For in-house, prepare business case, set-up and train operators for start-up

- Oversee logistics of wheel-tire assembly projects and define packages and handling requirements

Candidate Profile :

Education: B.Tech + M.Tech/ MBA

 Experience: 10-12 years of experience in wheel designing and product costing

- Ability to design wheels for market needs

- Good commercial acumen

- Excellent negation and design capabilities
