We are currently looking to close an Assistant General Manager/ Sr Manager- Demand Planning and Logistics position with one of the topmost FMCG conglomerates in India. The position is to be based in Hyderabad.

Job Responsibilities :
Overall responsible for product availability, product freshness in the supply chain and outbound logistics cost.
Operational Duties (Logistics)
- Managing the pan-India distribution network (Primary and Secondary) by leading a team of logistics in-charges
- Oversee the planning and development of Logistics' network (Primary and Secondary) by working with the national and regional teams, and engaging with Logistics Partners. identify optimal routes, route-days, and transport modes
- Identify and support reach-outs to new Logistics Service providers, in charge of tendering process; review SLA's for logistics partners and take corrective actions to enhance results
- Identify, evaluate, and appoint CFAs in existing or new locations as and when required
- Ensure cost is as per budget
- Ensure timely action and solution for transit damage, lost items, etc.
- Review logistics related performance metrics at periodic basis and identify scope for improvements
Operational Duties (Demand Planning)
- Responsible for product availability by leading a team of demand planners
- Oversee demand planning process - collating demand forecasts by sales team, planning stock levels at CFAs and Plants, developing dispatch plan and production plan on a periodic basis
- Ensure that plan is modified basis market performance, marketing initiatives and supply constraints
- Ensure Inter-department coordination between sales, supply chain and production team for adherence to plan
- Ensure that instances of stock-out in CFAs or customer locations are minimal
- Responsible for FG stock availability, customer service level and freshness of stock
- Responsible for inventory levels at plants, CFAs, and customers; ensure reduction of obsolete stock
Team Building Duties
- Lead a team of logistics in-charges (regional and national level) and demand planners, support performance improvement through trainings
- Ensure that the logistics team in HO and regional teams work seamlessly to provide the best customer service
Strategic Duties
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives (warehouse efficiency, consolidation, transportation strategy, etc.) for primary and secondary logistics without impacting service levels
- Strive towards zero stock-outs by working with the sales team
- Reduce working capital requirement by optimising inventory levels
- Long horizon planning support to the management through simulations of expected Sales (based on existing and expected trends).
- Use of existing IT systems and identify IT tools to support planning and logistics process
- Increase visibility of logistics and planning process through systematic data flow and dashboards
Qualifications
- Education:
- Master's Degree in Business Administration; specialization in operations/ supply chain preferred
Experience :
- 10 + years of experience in supply chain functions; with at least 5 years of experience in finished goods planning or logistics
- 3+ experience in team leader/ manager role
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
Knowledge Required
- Highly adept with logistics and supply chain ecosystem
- Integrated Business Planning Process / Sales Operations Planning Process
- Understands warehouse and transportation capacity planning
- Experience in secondary distribution

Salary: Around Rs. 40.0- 45.0 LPA
