As the Sr. Lead EHS (ETP), you will be ensuring the overall treatment and operations for effluent treatment facilities and developing and implementing the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Strategy for the company to ensure compliance with organizational & statutory specifications and standards and ensuring the safety of all personnel in and around the plan
What you will do:
Strategic Planning
- Doing a survey of the environment to keep abreast of industry trends, best practices and changes in the regulatory framework in the area of EHS in the paper industry, nationally and internationally; Developing appropriate strategies to address/incorporate the same
- Leading the development and implementation of an EHS & ETP framework and Safety Manual for the organization
- Formulating the working plan for creating awareness of safety and pollution control mechanisms and implementing strategies to minimize and accidents at the plant
Financial Controls
- Developing the department budget and ensure adherence to the same
- Minimizing penalties due to EHS violations. Assessing EHS risks; Undertaking corrective action/precautionary measures to minimize potential costs.
Process Excellence
- Operating & maintaining physio-chemical, anaerobic-aerobic biological industrial wastewater treatment plants.
- Operating & maintaining membrane-based tertiary/polishing industrial wastewater treatment systems
- Operating & maintaining wet gas scrubbers
- Ensuring the efficient treatment of Wastewater.
- Ensuring Solids waste treatment and disposal-process/gas scrubbers/boiler ash/sludges
- Monitoring and controlling campus ambient air quality.
- Analyzing and monitoring the quality of Wastewater and air sample through laboratory testings.
- Adhering to the fulfillment of compliance of environmental laws
- Ensuring plant operations and facilities are in adherence to regulatory and design requirements
- Ensuring plant effluent quality limits are maintained through equipment uptime and repair
- Managing the inventory of stored material for plant use
- Carrying out Safe Behaviours Surveys, audits and analyze the trend and formulate the plans to improve on the issues of concerns for good EHS management
- Involving and carrying out a risk assessment of all activities which are conducted by company employees and contractors by involving the employees
- Carrying out fire safety & emergency preparedness drills and share the learning for improvement
People
- Driving performance orientation through regular monitoring, review of performance parameters and providing feedback to team members
- Contributing to the development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles
- Actively participating in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation
- Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent and competent authority.
Candidate Profile:
What you need to have:
- Must have experience in handling pollutants i.e. WTP, ETP, and STP.
- B.E./B.Tech (Civil/Chemical/Environment Engg)/ M.Tech (Environment Engg.) is preferred
