Scope of Role:
This role will have business partner responsibility for Amazon in Chennai. The Sr. HR Manager will work with the Chennai management teams to drive results increasing organizational effectiveness and efficiency. This includes implementing annual HR programs such as performance reviews, promotions, and succession planning, as well as acting as a strong liaison with technology leaders and HR Partners in the US to support and drive global initiatives. You will partner with your clients throughout the planning and execution for these programs, tying them back to the business strategy. You will also work to improve organizational design and structure, provide change leadership and management coaching, as well as design and deliver management training. You will lead and participate in cross group and companywide projects including career management and career development initiatives, employee engagement frameworks, creation of new job families and career paths and development of internal processes and policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the HR roadmap for the business unit, working with senior business management and the HR leadership (local and global)
- Partner w/ business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, performance assessment, skills assessment and development.
- Provide management coaching to front line managers and senior leaders.
- Work with business groups to assess, create and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee engagement initiatives within the client group.
- Working with the learning and development team, assess business unit's HR training needs and deliver training sessions as appropriate.
- Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend systemic improvements.
- Provide compensation advice including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotion and job re-leveling recommendations.
- Partner on hiring the best talent for the business and HR teams.
Critical Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to quickly form strong relationships, enabling you to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results.
- Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and analysis.
- Experience assessing management and executive level talent.
- Experience working in an environment of high innovation and ownership requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of local employment laws and how to apply them in a business setting.
