JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THIS ROLE :
Primary Skills :
- Conducting Fundamental Research on Pharma Sector in India.
- Interacting with industry experts, company management, and government officials for building deep insight into the sector.
- Preparing and presenting Sector Research reports
- Financial Modelling
- Stock Picking
- Supporting the Sales / trading team with relevant research material/insights.
Key Deliverables :
Job Purpose :
- Conducting in-depth research on the Pharma Sector by interacting with industry experts, company management and government officials to garner a greater understanding of the sector.
- The broader purpose is to generate money-making research ideas/products for fund manager clients
- Converting the understanding of the sector into quantitative elements through financial models and valuations
- Facilitate engagement for the sales team with clients.
- Provide relevant research material/coverage for the sector to the sales/sales trading team to facilitate client interaction
- Interacting with clients such as Professional Investors, Prop Funds and Money Managers to bring in greater mileage and hence drive business through brokerage for the organization
- Providing coverage for 15 to 20 key stocks in the sector
Targets include :
- 1 idea-generating report per month
- 20-30 client calls/meetings per month.
- 4-5 corporate access event per quarter
Managerial Responsibilities :
- Attract and retain talent within the team
- Scale-up research capabilities of the associates to take ownership of products/client relationships
- Mentoring the associates towards improving overall relevance and quality of research
Functional Responsibilities :
- Build a corporate image as a trusted equities house/partner for the companies under coverage and key individuals in client organizations
- Writing periodic research reports that help give clients a perspective on the coverage sector
- Meeting corporate and industry experts to enhance the relationship and build expertise
- Communicating effectively, both in written and oral form forecasts and views on the sector
- Interacting with external and internal clients and facilitating their decision making
- Come out with timely actionable ideas to generate revenues for the firm
- Facilitating interaction of corporate / industry experts with clients
- Ensuring that financial models are precise and robust to capture the various nuances and complexities of the sector dynamics
- Providing actionable ideas on stocks under coverage, given a certain change in the business environment
Functional Competencies :
- Aptitude for research, especially understanding of business models and converting the same into effective/dynamic financial models
- Holistic perspective with an eye for detail
- Ability to understand as well as communicate complex business developments in a simple and lucid manner
- Understanding of the financial markets and interplay of all the factors impacting Indian equity markets
- Modeling/ Valuation skills
- Good understanding of accounting and taxation laws
- Relationship Management is integral to the role
- Decision-Making skills
NOTE :
CTC : Upto 25L LPA Gross (including variable )
Notice Period : 1-2 month
Work Ex : 8 yrs (Min) & 12 yrs (Max)
Qualifications : CA or MBA or CFA ( Best Combination - CFA + CA / CFA + MBA )
