As a Senior Design Researcher, you will be working closely with cross-functional team members to prioritise needs, and with Industrial Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to develop user-centred products,services and experiences. This position will be primarily focused on enabling the expansion of UX Core PD&L by championing the voice of the customer and extending our Community of Experts. Strong collaboration skills, comfort working with globally distributed teams, and fluency in working across cultural differences are critical.
Your skills:
- Enthusiastic about delivering research throughout the product development process from framing wicked problems at the fuzzy front end of development to validation and testing of concepts
- Creative with a variety of qualitative and quantitative research approaches and ability to flex your methods to meet the timing or resource needs of multiple business units
- Ability to work independently with direction to scope, align and lead project activities and build strong partnerships with business leaders
- Ability to lead UX research engagement across a cross-functional product development team and supervise external consultants and resources.
- Ability to drive cross-functional alignment on needs and help build new practices and approaches
- Passionate about high-quality research & using a variety of communication methods (i.e. presentations or participatory activities) to help bridge understanding and action.
- Eager to learn and thrive in an environment of stimulating ideas, dialogue, and diversity
- Possess an inherent intellectual curiosity around a wide range of topics with the highly evolved analytical and synthesizing abilities
- Possess a desire to continuously improve existing skills and abilities with a learning mindset
- Fluency in English is required. Other languages a plus.
Your experience:
- 7+ years of experience leading user research projects with a multifunctional team to scope and conduct research throughout the entire product development cycle
- Experience with all aspects of research, including study design, recruiting, facilitation, analysis, reporting
- Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and testing, usability testing, remote research, field research, and survey design
- Knowledgeable about Lean and/or Atomic UX research methods and agile environments.
- Flexibility to take calls early morning or in the evenings to accommodate global business needs.
- Degree or equivalent in social science, humanities, design or similar field of study
- Graduate degree in social science, design, or design research or relevant specialty preferred
