This is what the candidate will do daily.
Candidates should read this :
At Our company, each business unit like Paid Marketing, Retention, Referral, Customer Support, Product, Ops, etc has a data analysis assigned to co-own the unit's KPIs. This means building dashboards, finding new ideas, understanding what's working / not etc, and owning the outcome vs just reports
The Senior Data Manager will have all Data analysts report to him. He would need to guide teams on how to reach KPIs, how else they can improve reporting, find answers, and meet KPIs
Not looking for someone who is NOT HANDS ON. Please drop any such candidate
We are looking for people who use data to solve a business problem and own business outcomes, vs just building reports and sharing data
Most likely person would have an advanced data degree, but not necessary
What you will do:
- Provide analytical insights into problems, emerging trends, and new opportunities in the industry
- End-to-end ownership of data across marketing, sales, and product engagement.
- Build dashboards that are automated, scalable, digestible - but most importantly, useful
- Drive insights on the impact of key marketing activities and experiments to help optimize channel mix and performance, as well as creative and social output
- Analyse sales-related data to understand sales efficiency and evaluate what channels of acquisition are working best
- Delve deeper into product metrics to understand ways we can reduce churn and improve customer engagement
- These are the main skills the candidates should have. HR teams should share why in their view candidates fit each criteria
1.The right candidate needs to be hands-on, have a strong understanding of data sources used in eCommerce, strong with Python, APIs and how a Data Warehouse is setup (NOT DATA ENGINEER)
Should be very strong on Marketing Analytics and be able to demonstrate how he / she has been able to improve KPIs
- The candidate should have worked his way up in Data and hence worked closely with Marketing teams like acquisition, retention, email, SMS, etc. Actually building the reports, understanding the data sources, and how to use data and insights to achieve business outcomes
- Should have done work on Product Analytics. Building funnels for user drops and what changes can be made
- Should be able to build reports on Power BI / Tableau
- Should understand our main data sources like Clever tap, Branch, Firebase, GA, Google Ads etc
- Building data models for personalization - used for communication or Product enhancements
- Should align with our Core Cultural Aspects like [Determined post TA round]

Requirements:
- The right candidate needs to be hands-on, have a strong understanding of data sources used in eCommerce, strong with Python, APIs and how a Data Warehouse is setup
- Confirm they are hands-on and experts in SQL. Most complex projects
- Should be very strong in Python. Get examples of their most complex projects
- Should be technically very strong, eg how to sync with APIs for fetching data. Any examples
- Should be very familiar with the data warehouse (don't need to setup) We use Redshift as our warehouse
- Should have worked with tech teams to see how to add more sources into the warehouse and provide briefs to them
- Should be very strong on Marketing Analytics and be able to demonstrate how he / she has been able to improve KPIs.
- The candidate should have worked his way up in Data and hence worked closely with Marketing teams like acquisition, retention, email, SMS, etc. Actually building the reports, understanding the data sources, and how to use data and insights to achieve business outcomes.
