Senior Credit Manager - Renewable Energy Sector

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Credit Manager with 12-15 years of experience in credit roles, particularly in underwriting corporate and SME loans. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial services background in fast-paced environments such as large private banks and/or Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs).

Knowledge of the latest credit assessment and evaluation tools/platforms is essential. Knowledge of financing products like Leasing (Operating and Financial Leases), plant and machinery financing (capex loans), project financing is important.

The candidate should have experience in leading teams.

Familiarity with the renewable energy sector such as solar rooftop, energy efficiency is a plus but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

- Loan Underwriting: Analyze and underwrite loans for corporate and SME clients, ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.

- Credit Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of creditworthiness using financial statements, credit reports, Bank statements, GST reports and market analysis.

- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional development.

- Technology Utilization: Leverage advanced technology tools for credit evaluation and risk assessment to enhance decision-making processes.

- Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage an assigned portfolio of loans, identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.

- Client Interaction: Maintain strong relationships with clients, conducting regular meetings to discuss their financial performance and address any concerns.

- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management regarding credit decisions, portfolio performance, and market trends.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or relevant certification is preferred.

- 12-15 years of experience in credit analysis or underwriting within banking or financial services.

- Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex credit portfolios.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.

- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to lending practices.

- Experience in the renewable energy sector is advantageous but not required.
