Senior Consultant/Manager - Tax
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Planning & Advisory:
- Provide strategic tax planning advice on various transactions, including classification, valuation, tax implications, and eligibility for tax benefits/exemptions.
- Develop and present innovative tax planning solutions through tax reviews, health checks, and due diligence reviews.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of client business operations to identify tax planning opportunities and potential compliance gaps.
Project Management & Client Leadership:
- Lead and coordinate the tax planning and tax management of client engagements from start to finish, under the guidance of Partners.
- Manage risk and compliance issues for client projects, ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement effective project management strategies to achieve commercial targets and client satisfaction.
- Manage junior team members, providing guidance and mentorship for professional development.
Tax Compliance & Dispute Resolution:
- Administer and oversee all corporate tax processes and compliance matters, including corporate tax, transfer pricing, financial statement certifications, fringe benefit tax, and withholding tax.
- Develop and implement litigation strategies for tax disputes, representing clients before adjudication and appellate authorities.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including the tax authorities, business teams, and external service providers.
Business Development & Client Management:
- Proactively communicate with clients, providing regular updates on project developments and ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships with CFOs, Tax Directors, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and networking.
- Support partners in preparing compelling pitch proposals for potential clients.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct and/or international tax consulting with a reputable firm.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex tax projects and delivering innovative solutions.
- Strong understanding of Indian tax laws, regulations, and international tax principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage and mentor junior team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated business development skills and a proactive approach to client relationship management
