Senior Auditor - CA/CPA - BFS

Summary:

The Senior Auditor 1 APAC Operations Audit Team, is responsible for conducting and documenting audits throughout the Corporation and ensuring department standards are met. This role leads audit projects, and includes providing oversight to the project audit team and communicating results of the engagement to management. The Senior Auditor 1 provides technical expertise and training to auditors within the engagement audit team and works closely with Audit Manager 1 to confirm the scope of the audit and to devise an appropriate testing approach to be performed during the engagement. The role is a direct report to an Audit Manager I.

Major Duties:

1. Functions to complete on a timely basis engagements that produce high quality and timely results.

2. Demonstrates understanding of business risks, controls, processes, and relevant regulatory rules and knowledge of systems within areas audited.

3. Function in an auditor in charge capacity for larger, more complex, or global engagements or assigned projects.

4. Perform and oversee work that adheres to all Policies and Standards; professional auditing standards; accounting principles and/or system control; and regulatory expectations.

5. Maintains familiarization and technical expertise with the assigned business unit(s) including organizational structure, personnel, activities and products, new product development, financial performance and risk and problem areas.

6. Communicating and supporting a point of view to senior management/stakeholders for challenge and discussion.

7. Anticipating the needs or questions/concerns of the audience and communicating actively

8. Written and verbal communications are clear, concise, and of high quality.

9. Building authentic relationships through thoughtful and respectful challenge; being clear, concise, and timely; being comprehensive and transparent, and simplifying complex messages

10. Support and in some instances lead communications (both written and verbal) with management/stakeholders and the audit team to convey key messages, input, and perspectives on risk through the engagement.

11. Influence the completion of projects and assignments; and highlight or escalate exceptions/concerns on a timely basis.

12. Develop and demonstrate through execution of assignments an understanding of the business risks (internal to NT and external that impact NT), controls and processes, along with knowledge of the impact of systems within responsible areas.

13. Include developing industry knowledge, knowledge of the applicable regulatory environment and risk evaluation.

14. Complete appropriate training and/or required professional certifications.

15. Applies analytical skills to review information and determine potential control weaknesses.

Knowledge/Skills :

- Knowledge of auditing in the financial services industry and basic accounting principles and related work experience.

- Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures that relate to auditing/accounting standards and analytical skills as necessary to prepare audits.

- Knowledge of the operations, functions, and objectives of interfacing areas is required to properly audit operations, services, systems, workflow, and operational impact on other areas.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) and/or an MBA along with demonstrated technical abilities in select areas (e.g., accounting, regulatory compliance, etc.) are preferred.

- Strong analytical and organizational skills are needed.

- Strong report writing and work paper documentation skills

Experience Required :

- A College or University degree and/or auditing experience in a financial institution or similar public accounting experience in the financial services industry

- Adept auditing and/or systems experience in a financial institution, or similar public accounting experience in the financial services industry.
