The Early Warning (EW) function is part of RMG (Risk Management Group) and is responsible for independent evaluation of credit risk, customer specific, industry trends, macro-economic parameters or developments which could have an adverse impact on the bank's portfolio.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- To evaluate portfolio trend against macro parameters/portfolio reports, formal & informal collection of market intelligence, transactional/facility utilization analysis and other early warning tools (e.g. stress testing) as appropriate.
- To identify accounts or portfolio having potential problem in repayment of bank loans and alert the relevant parties (e.g. RM or Risk officer) to take further action and protect credit interests of the Bank.
- Overseeing a part of the portfolio and use the early warning framework in assessing individual clients in the allocated portfolio for their credit status; the EW Officer is expected to summarize his/her findings and provide recommendation to EW Head, CRMs and IBG team.
- Maintain sound understanding of local market practices / competition / customers, etc. Keep up to date knowledge of products / policies / propositions for IBG segments within peer group.
- To apply knowledge of RBI Regulations/ MAS Guidelines that govern credit dispensation, including the Loan Grading, Provisioning and Asset Classification regulations.
Experience :
- 6-10 years of experience in Credit or Risk Management unit in Banking/ Credit Ratings/ NBFCs/ Mutual Funds.
- Professional qualification, Post Graduate degree, preferably in business, accountancy, finance etc. along with sound domain knowledge of Credit analysis.
- Sound knowledge of financial statement analysis and accounting policies/practices.
- Good knowledge of credit evaluation methods, tools & techniques.
- Sound understanding of regulatory guidelines on credit issued by RBI (local regulations in India), MAS and local laws and regulations that impact businesses in general.
- Knowledge of various banking products and risks associated with them.
- Worked on automation projects in the domain of credit risk (will be an added advantage.
