Job Description: Senior Area Sales Manager

Position Overview:

As a Senior Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the sales performance within a designated geographical area. Your leadership and strategic guidance will drive revenue growth, enhance customer experience, and ensure effective team management. Your role will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams and aligning efforts to achieve organizational goals.

This person will also be responsible to drive commercial success and strengthen retail execution in assigned stores.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the assigned area, in alignment with overall company objectives.

- Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and potential risks to continuously refine strategies.

- To ensure proper execution of established policies , procedures, initiatives and directives regarding store operation , visual merchandising , staff training and in-store marketing store activation.

- Lead and mentor a team of Cluster/ City Managers and SMs to achieve sales targets and objectives.

- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure consistent and effective performance.

- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, identifying areas of improvement , to review and take actions on all MIS reports and implementing corrective actions by devising strategic plans with the help of ASMs.

- Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate sales achievements, challenges, and future plans.

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders within the area.

- Ensure exceptional customer experience by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining high service standards.

- Identify untapped market segments and devise strategies to expand the company's presence and market share.

- Drive initiatives to enter new territories and capitalize on emerging opportunities.

- Collaborate with the sales forecasting team to provide accurate sales projections , sales forecasting planning as per the market survey conducted by the SR. ASM and contribute regarding demand planning and ensuring the inventory is planned as per the stores and the target consumer .

- Contribute to budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with sales targets and resource allocation.

- Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.

- Provide insights to product development based on market trends and customer feedback.

- To group franchise customers, set objectives, strategies, tactics , allocate resources and ensure translation into action plans respecting the framework set by the customer portfolio strategies.

- Facilitate training sessions for the sales team to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement to assist the team to achieve their fill potential and prepare them for future growth and development opportunities by mapping the skills

- Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development.

- Store Operations Excellence : Overseeing that the day to day tasks of the stores are being conducted as per the SOPs which fosters smooth running of the store operations.

- Conducting frequent store audits and discuss the audit outcomes with the ASMs and the SMs , prepare plan of improvement , provide constructive feedback and timely informing all the findings to the management team.

- The stock should be appropriately planned in the stores on the basis of the store capacity , walk- ins rate , and analyzing the market demand .

- All the stores should have proper and sufficient manpower at all points of time , SR. ASM will be responsible to study the customer purchase patterns and peak hours to forecast manpower planning for the stores.

- To proactively study the sell thru of the merchandise displayed in all the stores along with mapping the category contribution of each product category and devising corrective plans on the basis of the analysis performed by the SR.ASM.

- Having an eye for detail, the SR.ASM should conduct weekly performance reviews with the ASM and the SMs and timely update the key stakeholders about the outcome.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Retail or a related field. MBA is a plus.

- Minimum experience of 5 Years as an Area Sales Manager or similar role in the retail sector.

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of achieving sales targets.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

- Proficiency in sales management software and MS Tools

- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

- Availability for travel within the designated area as needed.

- Demonstrated commitment to ethical and professional conduct.
