- Work with various operations and accounting departments for master data set-up requirements
- Identify/gather business requirements from data owners and ensure these are clearly communicated to the MDM project team
- Liaise with business owners and IT to ensure alignment of master data rules
- Partner with the data steward to implement rules, policies, and controls to ensure master data is complete, consistent and accurate
- Design data quality rules to identify areas for data quality improvement and execute action plans to resolve issues
- Implement process controls & improvements for prevention of data quality issues and integrity across key systems
- Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements of new business initiatives
- Understand data structure, data interfaces and how data flows and transforms from source systems to the downstream systems
- Develop measurements for master data that will drive key performance indicators and master data integrity reviews
- Prepare, analyze and publish SLA tracking document and data quality reports to data owners and senior management
- Follow up with data owners/users to remediate data issues in order to maintain defined levels of quality
- Act as primary SME for any master data related questions
- Serve as a primary liaison between business and IT for master data issues.
- Ensure process compliance with applicable master data management policies
- Assist in data management, including performing Create/Read/Update/Delete responsibilities for master data
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Essential
- Bachelor's/PG degree with a major in accounting, finance, business administration, information systems or equivalent with minimum 3 years of experience.
- Understanding of Master Data Management and Data Governance as it relates to operations, accounting, master data hierarchies, attribute definitions, in a financial services environment
- Minimum 2 years of master data administration experience
- Microsoft Excel software proficiency required
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated a commitment to teamwork and partnerships.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Highly proficient Personal Computer skills and technology driven
Desirable
- Experience in Enterprise Data Management platforms such as Informatica MDM (preferred), Golden Source, Markit EDM
- Oil and gas/commodity trading business vocabulary or working knowledge of functions such Trading operations, Compliance and Accounting preferred
