About Fixed Income Financing :

- The primary purpose of the Fixed Income Financing Desk is to procure funding for firm inventory and to cover firm shorts. In addition the Fixed Income Financing desk manages a trading book of client facing matched book activity. The desk is a flow business and its purpose is to generate appropriate returns for Barclays by providing market making services to our clients. As a credit intermediary the desk generates revenues through interest rate differentials on secured loans to our clients on both sides of the balance sheet.

- The trading desk makes bond financing markets across a range of fixed income assets including Governments, Agencies, Agency MBS, Securitized Products, Credit and Emerging Markets. Our client base includes securities lenders, central banks, global banks / financial institutions / money funds and levered asset managers.

Overall purpose of role :

- FIF team is responsible for executing trades, producing business critical MIS reports, Pricing models, Liquidity Risk framework models and adhoc customized analysis.

- The role requires sound understanding of trade life cycle of Securities Lending & Repo Financing, sound programming skills, understanding of the Financing business, eye for detail and an ability to liaise with the trading desks to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of tasks/projects performed. Over the past six years the team has created its own niche brand within the business and the person joining this team has got a great ask to drive this brand further.

0 The role holder will interact with regional traders to understand the key areas of business, the PnL drivers, the risks involved and work closely to build solutions/ models/ reports that can help in making the business more efficient from cost/ revenue perspective

Key specific accountabilities :

- Leading one or more than one product area in the Fixed Income Financing team

- Managing daily deliverables and self driving initiatives locally and globally

- Have a good understanding of Fixed Income Financing business flow across region and sub-asset classes/Systems involved/Product details

- Managing the daily execution tasks like short cover via internal lifts and external lenders, auto borrows, excess returns, refinancing trades, funding, etc with good understanding of logic behind these BAU

- Ensuring that the team meets deadlines for projects/daily deliverables

- Client Metrics/Financial Metrics based dashboards/reports for Top Management

- Similarly need to be pro-active in owning the existing daily MIS tasks like Market colour reports, inefficiency reports around cost/revenue, Margin/ Haircut/ Improper Price reports, Client P&L Attribution reports, etc with good understanding of logic behind these reports

- Database Analytics using tools like Qlikview/Access/SQL

- Over time should be able to independently analyse credit business to highlight inefficiencies and develop potential solutions in collaboration with regional traders

- Take initiative in proposing trade ideas and executing them with the desks approval with an aim to increase book P&L

- Stakeholder management and leadership

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate complicated issues to management and other impacted areas and ensure timely resolution of issues and breaches

- Confident in dealing with groups outside of immediate team (Sales, Trading, Product Control, Credit, Legal, etc)

- Ability to build, maintain and enhance relationships at all levels including interacting effectively with other key areas within the bank e.g. IT, MO, FO, Ops Control

- Decision-making and Problem Solving

- Detailed and meticulous, consistently delivering a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with high quality output

- Well organised with good time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise tasks

- Able to work effectively as part of a large team and have flexible working hours

- Able to multi-task and prioritise accordingly in a highly pressurised environment

- Self Starter / Ambitious

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications :

- Graduate or above in any discipline preferable from Engineering background

- Basic understanding of Fixed Income Products

- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel,VBA,SQL,etc

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

- CFA/FRM Degree
