Responsibilities :
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of India GST compliance and more, reporting directly to Global Transaction Tax Senior Manager (based out of CA, US). This role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Support India GST operations of Enphase Energy. This includes the following:
- GST compliance, specifically the pulling, testing, automation and transformation of required compliance data, ensuring the timely submission of all periodic filings;
- Preparation of month end journal entries and GL reconciliations;
- Preparation of all data (including required reconciliations) for GST refund claims;
- Partner with IT on system configuration to set up indirect tax treatment of new product lines, -business models, etc.
- Automating internal indirect tax functions and processes using technology;
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management.
- Assist with other Transaction tax (GST / VAT / SUT) compliances, including in foreign jurisdictions, e.g. extracting, testing of required compliance data, ensuring the timely submission of all filings.
- Assist with setting up end to end systems and processes for collecting indirect tax, filings of refunds, tracking and reporting the status.
- Automation of the indirect tax accruals and associated roll-forwards.
- Automating policies and processes in the context of the company's growth to mitigate risks and help ensure timely and accurate reporting
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of transaction tax / indirect tax experience including technology experience
- Prior experience in handling India GST compliance work, preparing and filing of GST compliances, GST refunds and audits
- Exposure to transaction taxes (VAT / GST / SUT) in foreign jurisdictions is a plus
- Prior experience with a global accounting firm
- Experience in accounting for indirect tax activities under US GAAP principles
- Experience with ERP systems and tax engines and reporting systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion, Avalara), including configurations to ensure appropriate transaction-level reporting
- Continuous improvement mindset to bring best practices and efficiencies to flex with growing requirements
- Effective written and interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to drive tasks to completion autonomously
- Indirect tax specific qualifications preferred
