Organization : An international Public Health Consulting organization in the social development sector
Job summary :
The position will work to build on a sales distribution network blue print for increasing penetration of Family planning products ( ie condoms etc). The incumbent will build on the various aspects of existing distribution system ie distribution channels, stockist management, coverage, ROI of distributors and identifying new channels of distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the existing distribution models in the country including existing structures and systems
- Assess supply chains of commercial, social marketing organizations and public sector to identify gaps, overlaps, and identify opportunities to leverage existing networks and explore alternate channels for distribution
- Work with marketing and research organizations to conduct consumer and market research wrt target audience, distribution channels and the market. This would also include selection of agencies, budget negotiations and managing the selected agencies to deliver outputs
- Work on developing a market driven - business strategy/blue print- based on the above
- Build on long-term strategic goals and short-term objectives considering - 4Ps- of marketing-product, price, place, promotion, and adding partnership and policy as additional dimensions to address distribution structural and functional gaps/weaknesses
- Provide assistance to identify and address barriers and maximize opportunities so as to build an financially sustainable model by facilitating expansion of basket of products; develop new pricing strategies; identify and leverage new distribution channels and outlets points; develop and target appropriate messages for the target market; and create performance metrics.
- Identify alternative distribution models, which could expand reach of the products, launch of new products, scale up and sustained availability of products
- Work to synthesize and utilize market data and examine trends to make timely, responsive, and informed decisions
- Assist the organization to customize and implement IT systems for increased information integration, data visibility, and coordination
Required qualification, experience and skills:
- MBA with specialization in marketing
- Minimum 15 years of experience in sales and distribution. FMCG experience will be a advantage
- Proven ability to support strategic decision-making informed by market research and distribution chain assessment
- Developed leadership and management skills through individual and team coaching
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills
