Senior Accounting Team Leader - Reinsurance

Job Description in Details:

Core Purpose of the Role:

- Manage the completion of key monthly and quarterly tasks to facilitate and accurate Statutory reporting

- To maintain and recommend improvements to the Financial Controlling function including the FCOE internal controls and processes

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise, direct, coach and train the team to ensure an effective working environment

- Oversee the delivery of processes and services that meet or exceed established KPIs

- Ensure processes are properly documented, updated and reviewed regularly with a view to achieving improvements and efficiencies

- Engage proactively with stakeholders to ensure risks are identified and managed accordingly

- Maintain a strong internal controls environment

- Assist internal and external auditors

Key Capabilities:

- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and/or Statutory Accounting Principles

- Strong control environment background and expertise with a focus on right first time, on time

- Ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues

- Significant and complex financial analysis of activities, projects and plans

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

- Strong math aptitude and excellent analytical, problem solving and verbal / written communication skills

- Excellent team player with history of building collaborative working relationships; ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers

Key Experience:

- 9+ years Accounting experience. Also 3+ years experience in reinsurance.

- University graduate with Accounting degree.

- Prior Statutory and GAAP financial reporting experience and CPA designation are preferred

- Experience working in a multinational financial services firm, preferably insurance or reinsurance

- Fluent English and other language preferred but not required

- Experience of delivering diverse financial information requirements in a complex organisation

- Prior work experience in a multinational organisation and matrix reporting structure
