Senior Accountant - Hyper/Supermarket Retail

Group is one of Nigeria's leading businesses spanning across the consumption space. While retail forms the core business activity of Group, Group subsidiaries are present in shopping mall, manufacturing, real estates, among many others.

- Manage and oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance.

- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets for the company.

- Analyze financial data and make recommendations to improve financial performance and profitability.

- Ensure accurate and timely processing of all accounting transactions.

- Maintain accurate and complete financial records and documentation and optimize the utilization of the ERP for accounting and finance functions

- Assist in the preparation of annual audits and tax returns.

- Train and supervise accounting staff to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

- Participate in the development of financial strategies and objectives for the company.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

- CPA or equivalent certification required.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Attention to detail and accuracy

- Position is based in Lagos (Nigeria)

- Reports to Finance Manager
