JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant
DEPARTMENT: Accounting
I. JOB SUMMARY :
- Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
- Responsible for journal entries and analysis related to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes.
- Responsible for identifying, and in some cases, leading process improvement opportunities, implementing approved changes, and updating process documentation.
- Responsible for maintaining process documentation for job duties and maintaining cross- training responsibilities.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
1. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries on a timely basis.
2. Responsible for the month-end, quarter-end and year-end analysis of general ledger accounts, including validating the accuracy of data from subsystems.
3. Responsible for general ledger account reconciliations and bank reconciliations, with a focus on appropriate supporting documentation, timely follow-up on reconciling items and adherence to the reconciliation policy.
4. Partner with both on-shore and off-shore accounting resources to ensure timely completion of journal entries and overall compliance with the monthly close calendar.
5. Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis identifying reasons for variances in both balance sheet and income statement accounts.
1. Assist in preparing audit schedules for the external auditors, tax package schedules and schedules to support SOX controls.
2. Focus on continuous improvement. Identifies and helps develop new processes to improve efficiency.
3. Maintain documented standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all job duties and responsibilities.
4. Responsible for ensuring the back-up resources for your job duties and responsibilities are properly trained and ready to perform in your absence.
5. Other duties as assigned.

IV. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education;
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- CPA designation preferred
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years accounting experience
- Experience on GAAP OR USGAAP
- Experience on US Accounting and US taxation.
- Knowledge of integrated online accounting applications
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and project simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Word and Excel including ability to use macros, pivot tables, and query
- Experience with Workday general ledger preferred
