Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented import and sourcing professional with prior experience in identifying and evaluating relevant vendors in China to ensure the procurement of high-quality products for our various D2C categories. The role requires strong negotiation skills, market analysis, and a proactive approach to sourcing.

Prior experience with Chinese manufacturers for D2C/E-commerce products is preferred.

Professionals with only industrial purchase experience will not be a good fit.

Responsibilities:

- Supplier Identification and Evaluation. Existing network of suppliers and manufacturers in China and Bangladesh. Identify new suppliers aligned with product needs through market research and industry analysis. Evaluate supplier capabilities, conduct due diligence, and assess their ability to meet quality standards and delivery requirements.

- Coordinate for import/export shipment activities, including customs clearance and documentation. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to imports.

- Logistics: Liaise and negotiate with freight forwarders and other third parties to ensure timely and accurate import processes and paperwork

- Contract Management. Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers, aiming for favourable terms while maintaining quality and cost-efficiency. Draft and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.

- Supplier Relationship Management.

- Work closely with the marketplace team to forecast demand, ensure timely deliveries, and manage inventory levels based on product requirements. Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline processes and align sourcing activities with company goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Strong network for D2C / E-commerce sourcing in India as well as China

- Experience in Import & Export is a must. Well versed with different stages of Customs clearance and compliances

- Logistics - Sea freight and air freight, along with first and last mile

- Inventory planning

- Excellent vendor management and negotiation

- Good communication skills

- Proficiency with MS Office and sourcing / procurement software is advantageous

- Cost efficient mindset

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM) is a plus

- Proven experience 4-5 years in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a D2C or retail environment
