- The Legal Manager will act as a principal advisor to the board on issues concerning Legal/compliances and is responsible for providing well founded and documented advice on all compliance related issues.
- Corporate Governance & Disclosures related compliance and implementing best practices within the organization in consultation with the management.
- To act as a focal point with Regulators for clarifications, implementation on regulations and obtaining specific approvals.
- To advise business and support units in compliance issues arising from their operations and business.
- Engage with the Operational Risk unit & Compliance unit to drive periodic Risk and Control assessments, address gaps in identified risks.
- To review all open audit items and support departments to roll out agreed actions and mitigants as provided in the management response in audit observations.
- Performing required customer due diligence on prospective relationships or assist Business in risk re-assessment on an existing relationship.
- Create relevant management information which aims to clarify movements in client profile, may highlight trends or incidents with a view to support Compliance's decision-making in line with a pre-set risk appetite.
- Identify, assess, monitor and report all customers compliance risks and responsible to investigate suspicious/unusual transactions and customers.
- Perform customer risk assessment to ensure that the risk is appropriately identified and assessed while on boarding a customer
- Maintain an understanding of relevant regulatory requirements to provide advice and guidance.
- Contract Management, which includes negotiating, drafting, vetting and reviewing of service level contracts with the vendors, business related contracts pertaining to the various partnerships of the company, employee and non-employee related contracts, manpower supply related contracts.
- Providing legal opinions to various internal stakeholders of the company which includes Claims (opinion on repudiation of death claims), Customer Grievance (opinion on complex customer grievances), Risk (opinion on employee/non-employee related matters, rendering policies as null and void), Human Resources (opinion on termination of employee, employee related grievances) and vetting of responses/documents.
- Data management and maintaining MIS for the Legal team.
