Brief about Role
We are looking for a competent Category Manager to be a part of the growing team at the pioneer stage of an organisation. This Position is part of the source lines of products Vertical and will have high visibility with Management | Cross functional team | External partners & Service providers. The quality and variety of products on our digital shelves are essential for our success. Great attention to detailing, stock strategy, market trends, facilitate sustainable growth. As a retail buyer, you will also need to negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive deals as key expectation from the role.
Category Manager will actively contribute to ensure that the business will always have adequate benchmark products that meet its requirements & Core Objective of "Seetara" offerings. Deliver value to our customers through high-quality products and facilitate a sustainable ecosystem with venders.
Job Role: Category (Vendor) ManagerJob Location: Baner, Pune (6 Days Working) Responsibilities:- Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality.
- Devising long-term development strategies for product categories
- Developing exit strategies for unsuccessful products
- Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories
- Continually monitoring sales trends to determine which products are more popular than others.
- Identify customer preferences and forecast consumer trends
- Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality etc. and determine the best choices
- Discover and source new products and check the quality and popularity of those already on our shelves
- Negotiate terms of agreements to achieve the best deal for our company
- Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase
- Monitor stock levels and make plans for buying within budget
- Create reports on sales, budgets and customer satisfaction and adjust your strategies accordingly
- Forge and maintain trust relationships with suppliers to promote fair dealing
- Attend events, fairs and exhibitions to remain up-to-date with the market's trends
Requirements & Qualifications:Experience: 5 years and Above in Industry experience Education: Bachelor's degree (Business administration is preferred) or relevant fieldRole Qualifications- Proven experience as a retail buyer or relevant role
- Outstanding communication abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrable aptitude in effective negotiating
- Up to speed with purchasing best practices
- Familiarity with market research, data analysis and forecasting techniques
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office;
