Category Manager
Job Responsibility :
- You will work with various stakeholders and teams across the Scale Global organization both locally and internationally.
- As a category manager, you will be responsible in developing relationships for Scale Global with our brand partners and driving them to improve their global retail strategy and achieve goals.
- So what is involved in this role day-to-day? It's incredibly varied, so you need to enjoy managing multiple projects and problem-solving.
Business Development for Brands Partnerships :
- Analyze the data, develop and execute strategies to increase the assortment and to grow the category
- Acquire new brands, establish relationships, and drive high-level negotiations with leading industry brands.
Strategy Development & Performance Management :
- Collaborate with the internal teams to plan, build and execute a strategy for sustainable growth and development of the partnership account
- Consult brand partners on their expansion strategy and drive program adoption across Scale Global services, tools, and platforms
- Develop Joint Business Plan with the brands to develop their business across channels and markets
- Overseeing the overall growth, P&L, execution of market and channel rollout, in collaboration with sales, and brand marketing teams placed locally and globally.
- Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets
- Conducts regular reviews of ranges within their brands
Brand Planning :
- Leading and developing brand relationships in line with company values to build a best in market joint business plan and achieve business benefits including new market & channel activations, investment into promotional & marketing support to maximize performance.
- Works in close alignment with account management and brand marketing teams to ensure execution of all activations and promotions are successful and aligned with JBP
- Responsible for building, managing and delivering the category and brand budgets, providing a clear and structured rationale for how each budget is to be achieved given the agreed upon JBP and marketing exposure
- Works in close alignment with product supply team to always ensure availability of stock with our brand partners
- Communicates key JBP activations by brand to key account managers and brand marketing teams to ensure the successful execution of the JBP.
- Forms & nurtures strategic brand relationships building strength in relationships with key brand partners to leverage investment opportunities, terms discussions and their global networks.
- Continuous monitoring and review of category performance to analyze sales patterns, advises teams and ensures appropriate action is taken to unforeseen sales reactions.
- Arranges (3 months in advance) strategy meetings with brands, devising clear agendas, objectives and working cross functionally beforehand to gather relevant information to prepare a presentation that crafts a meaningful story for each brand meeting and enables a best-in-class JBP
- Monitors satisfaction with all brand partners to ensure best in class delivery
Project Management and Internal Collaboration :
- Manage and monitor the successful execution of regional strategic projects
- Cross-functional team collaborations on necessary systems and processes to support category needs and deliver efficiency on improvements
Requirements :
- 2+ years' commercial/sales/category/account management background with a strong track record in target achievement
- team management experience is highly preferred
- Good communication skills, strong ability to build partnerships
- Highly energetic, self-motivated, and independent thinker
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize them, and meet deadlines
- Strong data analysis skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
