A Business Development Manager is responsible for delivering agreed sales results and activities in the respective area. The role is responsible for gaining, developing and maintaining effective customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and increase revenues.
Main accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Gains, develops, maintains and manages profitable accounts (can incl. distributors as well as new end customers)
- Builds and maintains strong customer relationship securing customer satisfaction and following the overall BU customer strategy
- Manages the business in area of responsibility by implementing sales plans, customer mix and volume mix to optimise profitability and fulfill targets.
- Performs negotiations on contract and conditions incl. preparation and conduction of business plans within level of authority
- Delivers input to sales forecast and is responsible for assigned sales budget
- Coordinates and leads various activities to develop business
- Drives local implementation of marketing strategies
- Builds and maintains strong relationship and collaboration with sales and related functions (e.g. Marketing)
- Builds strong customer insight and market knowledge and provides information to relevant stakeholders
