SAP BW/BI/HANA Architect

Role: SAP BI + HANA

Location: Bangalore / Mumbai

Experience:

- Has 15+ years of relevant Industry experience in BI/DW space and atleast 8+ years working in SAP BW

- Candidate must have experience working in multiple versions in SAP BW including BW 7.3 version

- Candidate must have experience working in multiple SAP BI suite of products especially BW, BOBJ (including BI 4.0) and integration (including single sign-on, security)

- Candidate must have experience or awareness of BW 7.3 In-memory features likes transient and composite providers in a BW running on HANA environment

- Candidate must have an in-depth understanding of SAP BI foundation architecture including ABAP & Java stacks, NetWeaver as middleware and BI Services catalog

- Awareness of HANA architecture, data modeling and knowledge of available RDS in HANA

- Candidate should have worked on at least 4 end-end implementation projects as SAP BW Lead (architect or lead capacity). Should have experience on multiple hardware/software environments and be comfortable with complex heterogeneous systems environments.

- Should have strong technical leadership to guide the team and collaborate with global stakeholders to support various customers

Primary Skills (must have):

- Strong understanding and appreciation of entire SAP BW architecture spanning Extraction, EDW and Reporting areas.

- Has owned a complex project from a technical architecture and data model design perspective

- Strong business appreciation skills to craft the solution in alignment to business needs

- Experienced in blueprinting, GAP analysis between requirements and available BW functionalities

- Experience on R/3 integration (standard extractors) and custom integration (generic extractors) required

- Strong knowledge on performance tuning techniques and deployed them to solve issues

- Excellent Domain knowledge of SAP ERP, SAP BW/ BI and very good SAP Business process knowledge, expertise in ABAP, BO Enterprise

- Experience integrating data from multiple satellite systems

- SAP BW Audit/Assessment (incl component level and server sizing)

- Experienced working on BW Security & Authorization concepts

- Overview knowledge on BW/BI/BO System Administration and Maintenance

- Awareness on SAP Support Packs & Functionality Packs

- BW/BI connectivity options with BOBJ 4.0

- SAP BI 7.0/7.3 knowledge is required

- SAP HANA overview skills

- Experience in estimation and planning

- Domain knowledge in MIS Reporting and Analytics.

- Experienced interacting with clients and business SMEs

- Resource Planning & strong in handling escalations

- Experience in distributed delivery model

- Prior experience in BO environment assessment exercise, migration project

- Ability to interact with architects of global organizations and provides inputs on technology

- Willing to travel frequently to meet with customers, participate in internal/external events

- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organization, documentation, and presentation skills (to executive level staff and to large groups)

Responsibilities include:

- Lead SAP BW/HANA related activities which includes pre-sales support, assets & accelerator development, technology innovation, training enablement, demand fulfillment in related technologies, CoE members career progression & talent management

- Research, develop and document SAP BW/HANA solution alternatives, approaches and recommendations that address approved project scope and business requirements, align with IT’s Target State Architecture and Technology Roadmap, and leverage IT investments across the enterprise.

- Bring technology leadership in HANA including BO on HANA, Visual Intelligence

- Conduct risk assessments (risk identification, risk analysis, mitigation strategy) to assist the business in selecting the most appropriate solution.

- Present to senior management and the Architecture Review Board to gain buy-in and acceptance of solution approaches, and to ensure that decisions are made with the interest of the enterprise vision in mind (e.g. align with strategic business and IT direction).

- Lead and define project designs (e.g. Infrastructure Designs, High Level Designs, and Detailed Designs), Test Definitions and Implementation Strategies, and stay involved throughout project life cycle to ensure projects deliver according to the approved designs.

- Resolve solution design issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Competencies: BW, HANA

Advantageous:

- Knowledge of BI 4.0 on HANA is a big plus

- SAP BW certification would be a plus

- HANA training and certified would be a plus

- Knowledge of Visual Intelligence (VI) is a plus

- TOGAF 9 certified is a plus

- Exposure and understanding of emerging BI trends as below:

- In-Memory Analytics (Exalytics)

- Big Data (Hadoop, MapReduce, HBase, Hive, NoSql databases, data mining)

- Cloud BI (Virtualization, Elasticity, Data storage & Architecture)

- Social Media BI (Unstructured data analysis, Collaborative BI)
