Designation: Head –Sales
Reporting Manager: Director
Basic Purpose of the Role:
- Accomplishes business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans; implementing national sales plans; supervising regional sales managers to generate revenue for company from different product lines.
Key Deliverables/ Responsibilities:
Market Trends Analysis & Planning
- Identifying and wining business opportunities in target markets.
- Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results.
- Establishes and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand.
- Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product positioning in new and existing markets; coordinating new product development.
- Collaborates with different departments to develop sales strategies to improve market share.
- Formulates national and international sales & marketing policies, strategies and procedures.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories.
- Projects expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
Operational
- Implements national sales programs by developing field sales action plans.
- Completes national sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Maintains national sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains national sales staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
