Head of Sales / Chief Sales Officer - Edutech Setup
Role : Head of Sales / Chief Sales Officer - Edutech Setup
- CSO is accountable for overall Company Revenue, Sales Organization Performance, Sales strategy, Execution, and Alignment with overall business strategy.
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Understanding of a Start-up & it's sales operations
- Devise a sound commercial growth strategy, such as identification of Target segments, Market & Competitor analysis, Cross-selling and Product Initiatives.
- Consistently achieve revenue targets in line with team/organizational objectives
- Build and enhance positive mindshare and forge appropriate business relationships consistent with the business strategies of the organization.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments and contribute towards product feedback and roadmap
- Develop sales team and drive sales behaviour through communication, motivation, and product knowledge education
- Managing calls & customer service inquiries efficiently
- Regularly monitor and report core Sales KPIs/ PMS and business drivers
- Able to drive customer centricity in the team
- In-depth knowledge about Digital Payments
- Nurture and manage key client relationships to ensure business retention and growth.
- Drive the execution of defined commercial plans and track progress by utilising the CRM systems effectively.
- Set up process controls, Audit mechanisms to improve sales productivity & efficiency
- Align actively and effectively with the leadership team
- Leads sales organization change initiatives by constantly assessing the need for organizational change, championing change initiatives, and removing obstacles impeding constructive organizational change.
Key Competencies :
1. Strategy and Planning : Overseeing the execution and planning of driving revenue growth and sales strategy by using analysis to forecast sales performance, set sales targets, determining the effectiveness of current sales initiatives and implement change if necessary.
2. Customer Advocate : Driving customer acquisition strategy for company by providing a positive and efficient purchasing experience for buyers from initial engagement through purchase completion. The ultimate goal of the Head of Sales / Chief Sales Officer should be to orient the sales process around the buyer's journey rather than forcing a buyer through a complex process with only the sales rep in mind.
3. Relationship & Collaboration : Working cross-functionally with other leadership team members, like product and marketing, to foster collaboration, faster revenue growth and higher profitability.
4. Decision making : The ability to make decisions around things such as scope, assessing viability of solutions etc.
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree. MBA/postgraduate in Sales & Marketing will have an added advantage.
Experience : At least 10 to 15 years of total work experience in B2B/B2C sales with a minimum of 5 years in Telesales, preferably from an Internet (product) selling background
Skills :
- A proven track record of high achievement in sales roles in a B2B/B2C technology Sales/Software development environment.
- Should be backed with proven past professional track record of having built emerging new businesses in India, Global markets, SAARC region
- Ability to Attain Targets; Reach goals within deadlines and budget. Should know what to do when performance deviates from plan, and execute corrective measures.
- Balance of technical and product (biz) aspects acumen and ability to adapt to a market /biz development role is essential.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills.
