Job Purpose :
The Sales Development Head is responsible for driving the zones to build & maintain a high performance Sales & Operations organization & effectively achieve business objectives for the country by:
- Managing the Sales, Operations and Training Strategy for the country in line with the Company’s Vision and Mission.
- Creating/Identifying business development opportunities for expansion in terms of spread while ensuring that depth in each of these areas is achieved by Zonal Sales Head along with their teams.
- Setting up and driving a strong Customer Service and Operations Organization.
- Setting SOPs and Sales Processes between the internal and the external Sales Organization to achieve Operational Excellence.
- Ensure that Sales Training (content & delivery) strategy is aligned to support the KPI growth in line to the Company’s vision.
- Planning/developing business strategy for the regions and implementing it with the team in alignment with the company’s vision and core values.
- Translating Company Goals into achievable targets for Zones ®ions along with the Zonal & Regional Heads.
- Developing and supporting implementation of Zonal Sales and Marketing strategy along with the Zonal Sales and Marketing Team.
- Profitable revenue growth& expense/cost management.
- Business and sales revenue forecasting & planning for the FY along with the Zonal Sales Head.
- Driving and sustaining sales& other growth KPI for the country.
Strategy & Planning
Formulate strategies for growth and expansion of the regions, through-
Business Planning & Development:
- Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
- Prepare action plans along with the Zonal Heads and Regional teams for effectively managing relationships and driving development of the Top 10 Distributors in the country.
- Identifies and initiates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
- Participates in development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
- Building a High performance Sales & Training Team.
- Implement strategy and drive the same throughout the organization.
- New market entry and effective strategy of mapped areas for development.
- Defining Sales Targets & KPIs for the Zones and Top 10 DBs.
- To plan execution of key company events like DB conference, executive managers/general manager’s jubilee.
- Create and implement effective direct sales strategies.
- Proactively identify changes within & outside the organization, delivery systems, and competitive pressures to develop and modify strategies and tactics accordingly.
- Define & drive initiatives for leveraging our business opportunity and keeping company philosophy alive.
- Partner with Zonal Sales Head in the development of key distributorship relationship management.
- In Coordination with marketing and Zonal Sales Head: review price changes,new product introduction, inventory and sales force program
Execution:
- Developing sales strategy & executing plans based on the strategic blueprint platform.
- Driving key KPIs for the country.
- Steer key business meetings
- Drive business strategies for strengthening the Leadership base.
- Have Business plan meetings with Top 10DBs.
- Manage to meet/exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales & other KPI forecasts.
Financials
- Work with Head Commercial & Mgmt Accounting in and Zonal DMA’s in ensuring the financial and business health of the Distributors is excellent and analyze MIS relating to the region and keyDBs.
- Budgeting for Zones and Regions.
- Drive revenue growth, sales budgeting and planning.
- Responsible for achieving budgeted revenuegrowth for the regions.
- Overseeing the profit/loss strategy for the country.
People Management
- Reporting Relationships:
- Deputy Sales Head reports to & is accountable to the NSD.
- In due course of time, on successful understanding of the business, Zonal Sales Head , Sales Training Head and Customer Service and Operations Manager will report into this position.
- Ensure effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention of team.
- Develop competencies and processes required to create and effective and efficient sales organization.
- Provide supervision through field visits, observations and measurement of result to include performance appraisals and salary reviews
- Provide leadership through effective communication of vision, active coaching and development while comparing KPI achievement.
- Establish a succession plan along with the NSD for all key Sales & Training positions in the country.
- Establish effective relationship and collaborations with other departments (Marketing, Finance, Customer service etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities.
- Coordinating the training plan with training head.
- Compensation programs and incentive planning in coordination with marketing team.
Processes & Controls
- Review monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
- Defining SOP’s for key business processes.
- Tracking performance of the Tope 10 DBs in the country.
- Business Development &revenue/profit growth
- Leadership development& bench preparation.
- Tracking revenue, growth and expense management
- Mapping area and penetrating market to potential
- Team development and capability building.
