Our client, a global strategy consulting firm, is collaborating with a prominent Indian FMCG company on a large-scale sales and marketing transformation project. They are seeking a seasoned sales consultant with prior experience in the FMCG industry to assist in establishing local sales processes, managing salesforce effectiveness, trade marketing & BTL activation. This project also involves working closely with the local sales teams to set up robust operations and recruit distributors.

The consultant will primarily focus on establishing sales and distribution processes in various locations like West Bengal, UP and Bihar. The role requires a hands-on approach, with the consultant being on-site in various target markets in India and traveling to their base location on a weekly basis. This initiative is part of a significant transformation aimed at scaling up the distribution network and enhancing local sales capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Set up local sales processes, systems, and units in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities

- Overseeing and managing the daily operations of the salesforce, ensuring they are aligned with the company's sales objectives

- Enhancing and optimizing the existing distribution channels, dealer, and retailer networks to maximize sales reach and efficiency

- Designing and executing trade marketing strategies and BTL activities to boost product visibility and sales across the target regions

- Regularly interacting with sales organization stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and alignment with overall business goals

- Frequent travel to West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh to oversee operations and ensure on-ground execution of sales and marketing strategies

- Provide training and support to enhance the performance and effectiveness of the sales teams

- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including local sales teams, distributors, and senior management

Your Background:

- 10+ years of experience in sales and distribution, preferably within the FMCG sector in commodities category

- Proven track record in establishing sales operations and distribution networks

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Tier 1 MBA preferred

This is a contractual opportunity and will be on an initial 6-month contract. The consultant will be required to travel to various locations across India and work on-site five days a week, with the option to travel back to their base location on weekends.
