As a Key Account Manager/ Retail Activation expert you will be responsible for:
- Creating and implementing a sales strategy for the Modern Trade channel
- Preparing volume forecasts and sales plans and steering the team to achieve them
- Developing productive long-term relationships with large retailers
- Closely cooperating with other sales teams involved with your accounts
- Building and managing a sampling team across stores
- Developing in-store visibility plans in coordination with Modern Trade partners; to achieve timely & effective implementation
- Initiating & developing annual marketing plan/s as per the strategy & guidelines along with Head of Sales Additionally, the job will entail working on / finding answers to the following:
- Identifying the activation levers of the GTM - trade marketing, consumer promotion, category management, shopper marketing etc.
- Competition Analysis - What are the various activities undertaken by competition? What is the selling story of competitors in the category?
- Consumer Perception Analysis - What kind of activities influence shoppers, trigger trials, their ROI etc.? - What are the activation levers / key touchpoints of influence on the consumers?
- Designing an activation plan as per the above - How do we get shoppers to notice our products on shelf and in-store? How do we get the message across to Shoppers? What are the right activation mechanisms in-store?
- Managing and monitoring the implementation of these plans - Regular reviews, and fine-tuning of the implementation to achieve the desired objectives
- Playing a central role in steering Key Account Management with the aim of continuously improving share of shelf vs. competitors and to amplify impact of product visibility on consumers.
- If required, evaluate and select external agencies required to execute the GTM, and brief them appropriately - Develop a monitoring and reporting mechanism to track the execution - Direct,regularly monitor and review work by these agencies, and coordinate all their activities

- Proven working experience in activation for FMCG Companies (preferably in the food space)
- Experience of working in a Trade Marketing / P&L Role at FMCG Companies / Modern Trade Stores in the past
- Experience of having done upstream work in the Go-to-market (GTM) strategy viz. product positioning, SKU line-up
- Experience of having developed a detailed activation plan - trade marketing, consumer promotion, category management, shopper marketing etc.
- Experience with execution of integrated marketing campaigns in a short span to drive brand growth
