Saggezza - Azure Data Architect

We are looking for an experienced hands-on data architect with in-depth, hands-on knowledge of foundational data architectures such as data warehouses, ETLs and in-memory OLAP models, as well as experience in NoSQL and cloud implementations. In this role, employee will work directly with client stakeholders and team of engineers, architects and thought leaders to discover, design, build and implement an exciting variety of mission critical, line of business BI applications as well as cutting-edge cloud, big data and predictive analytics solutions.

Azure Data Architect Responsibilities :

- Drive the discovery, design and execution of a wide variety of data solutions for external clients

- Provide hands-on guidance and oversight on all aspects of solution delivery: estimation, design, management, implementation, delivery and more.

- Determines and documents legacy database requirements by analyzing customer's existing systems, operations, applications, schema, data and databases/file systems.

- Architects and develops new database solutions by designing proposed system, schema, data transformations, defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.

- Develop and maintain a data dictionary.

- Provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user/developers questions, and resolving any roadblocks/challenges.

- Guide the team of developers in transformations, business logic, and migrating data from legacy systems to new solutions based on Azure by building data pipelines.

- Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements

Azure Data Architect Requirements :

- 10+ years of professional data and analytics solution design and development experience with few years of expertise is several of the following areas :

a. Big Data technologies such as Hadoop or HDInsight, Hive, Pig, Python, Spark, Oozie, etc.

b. NoSQL using tools like HBase, Cassandra, Mongo, Azure (or another cloud) NoSQL service, etc.

- In-depth knowledge of data warehousing, ETL/ELT and in-memory/cube use cases and patterns

a. Experience in technologies like: RDMBS like SQL Server/Oracle, Azure SQL Database, SSRS, Power BI, Tableau

b. SSAS and DAX, Reporting Services, SSIS

Experience in one of the cloud services like AWS, Azure, GCP (preferred Azure) several of the following :

a. Azure Data Factory, Automation, Data Lake, Data Lake Analytics, Data Catalog, Data Lake Store, etc.

b. AWS and GCP : Experience in similar cloud services as above for the respective cloud providers.

- In depth experience in cloud (Azure is a big Plus), data architecture in cloud, and data API's in cloud.

- In-depth experience in Master Data Management (MDM) is required.

- Strong analytical and reasoning skills that result in clear, robust, flexible architectures

- Proven ability to drive complex design and development efforts in an agile environment

- Exemplary communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
