Sabre - Manager - Operations Research

Sabre is a leading global technology company in the air travel and hospitality solutions industry. Our Airline Solutions unit builds software for airlines spanning functions like Reservations, Ticketing, Customer Service, Check-In, Network Planning and Scheduling, Pricing and Revenue Management and Airline Operations. Many of these products use analytics, forecasting and optimization to help airlines take the right decisions. The Airline Solutions Operations Research (ASOR) team is responsible for prototyping, developing, improving, maintaining and delivering these complex decision support solutions.

Global Demand Data is a data product that tries to estimate global air travel demand using 40+ data sources and advanced algorithms. The ASOR team is responsible for maintaining and improving estimation methodologies. We also need to develop and increase analytical use cases for this product in areas like Sales Analysis, Network Planning, Revenue Management etc.

The main responsibilities of this role would include managing this team and delivering to our release plans and solving business problems via analytics. Candidate should be willing to be hands-on to be able to learn about the airline domain and the business problems we are trying to solve.

Required Qualifications

- Advanced Degree in Computer Science / Engineering, or related Quantitative disciplines (or equivalent level of experience)

- Demonstrated track record of building products with some experience in analytical or decision support systems; and managing product releases.

- Experience in data management processes and technologies such as Oracle and SQL.

- Solid programming skills with knowledge of C/C++

- Overall experience of at least 10 years with 2 years- experience at Manager or Principal level

- Basic familiarity with Big Data technologies and Vertica

Desired Skills and Experience

- People management experience would be a plus

- Familiarity with R, SAS, SQL or other data-extraction and analysis tools is a plus.

- Ability to read research articles and develop new statistical and forecasting algorithms to fit our business needs

- Experience with visualization tools and techniques
