Contributor Operations research

The role wearing two hats: a technologist and a product owner. The Operations Research Development role will act as consultant to the OR team, bringing in technology solutions as appropriate. There is opportunity to work in an elitist environment on ground breaking horizon projects by developing new algorithms and models and also design, code, test and debug complex software consisting of advanced OR algorithms

Minimum Requirements

- Should be comfortable with hands on coding in a variety of languages and tools. We are looking for people with Bachelors/Masters degree in one or more of the following disciplines:

- Computer Science or related Quantitative disciplines (or equivalent level of experience)

- Solid programming skills with knowledge of C++ is a must. Experience with both C++ and Java is desired

- The candidate must be very comfortable with data structures and algorithms

- Must have excellent debugging skills and command over debugging tools and profilers

- Ability to write and fine tune SQL queries

- Must have worked on Unix /Linux. Should be very comfortable with Unix/Linux commands, scripting language and command scheduling/automation

- Must have worked with any version control system like git/SVN

Desired Skills

a. Statistics Mathematics or Analytics background

b. Demonstrated ability to apply modeling and analytical skills to real world problems.

c. Experience in GUI development and visualization tools is preferred

d. Experience with any scripting language like python/perl is an advantage

e. Experience with any analytics toolkit like R is an advantage

f. Ability to work well in a team environment and participate in group design and brainstorming sessions.

g. Good communication skills; written and verbal, and strong problem solving and analytical skills
