- Legal Advice & Counsel: Provide expert legal advice to senior management and business units on a broad range of legal issues, including but not limited to corporate governance, commercial contracts, employment law, intellectual property, compliance, and litigation.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, client agreements, service contracts, and partnership agreements, ensuring that the organization's interests are protected.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Oversee compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks and provide solutions to minimize exposure.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage legal disputes and ligation, collaborating with external counsel when necessary. Assist in settlement negotiations and represent the organization's interests in legal proceedings.
- Corporate Governance: Support corporate governance processes, including board meetings, shareholder communications, and maintaining statutory records.
- Intellectual Property: Oversee the organization's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and licenses, ensuring proper protection and enforcement of rights.
- Employment Law: Advise HR on employee relations, labor laws, workplace policies, and compliance with employment regulations.
- Training & Awareness: Conduct training for employees on legal topics such as contracts, intellectual property, compliance, and ethical conduct.
- Documentation & Reporting: Ensure proper documentation of all legal matters, maintaining records of legal proceedings, contracts, and regulatory filings.
Qualifications:
- Education: LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree from an accredited law school. A Master's degree in Law (LLM) or other relevant qualifications will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 6+ years of legal experience, specializing in commercial law, corporate governance, contracts, and dispute resolution.
- Previous in-house experience within a corporate environment is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with compliance and risk management practices is an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, including FSSAI, Shops & Establishment Act, GST (Additional Place of Business), Weight & Measurement, Insecticide Act, CLRA, Stamp Duty, and registrations is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, including contract law, corporate law, employment law, and intellectual property law.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills.
- Ability to think strategically and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
