Associate Manager - Investment Research & Advisory

About the Role:

- The role involves supporting the Healthcare Research Division of a renowned investment bank headed by one of the leading Wall Street analysts and widely recognized as a thought leader within the healthcare space.

- The candidate will work closely with the Head of the Healthcare Division and other team members as a thought partner.

Responsibilities:

- Building detailed financial models and updating them, handling routine periodical updates and carrying out valuations

- Conducting financial analysis, i.e., forecasting Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Shareholder's Equity, Debt, Enrollment and Investment income tabs

- Delivering primer calls, explaining the quantitative and qualitative impact of developments in the US Healthcare industry on various stakeholders

- Preparing Initiating Coverage Reports (ICRs), writing Investment theses and detailed company fact packs

- Interacting directly with the client and making presentations to internal/ external stakeholders

- Being on top of Sector/Company news/events and communicating with the Lead Analyst and Team

- Making graphical presentations (charts) of complex data in Excel

- Gathering and analyzing large datasets to make informed decisions on sectors and companies

Candidate profile:

- CFA/FRM/MBA Finance from leading B-Schools and a strong academic background. Candidates progressing towards CFA would be preferred.

- 5-6 years of strong experience in Sell-Side/ Buy-Side equity research in the US Healthcare sector is a prerequisite.

- Experience in the US managed care and hospital sector will be an added advantage.

- Strong quantitative aptitude and ability to draw inferences from a set of numbers/financials.

- Strong understanding of financial concepts, financial statements, ratios and valuation techniques, including DCF, SOTP and comparable valuation.

- Excellent financial modeling and report writing skills with experience in writing ICRs.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong quantitative aptitude and ability to draw inferences from a set of numbers / financials.

- Excellent data presentation and synthesis skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to handle client queries and provide crunch time support during earnings.

- Proficiency in using financial information databases, such as FactSet, Bloomberg and Capital IQ.

- Ability to stretch and learn, have high analytical rigor and work under deadline pressure, especially during earning season.
