Do you have the product management experience of leading either a database production platform or a product involving large databases and advanced analytics? If the answer is yes, read on. Join a global leader in P&C insurance and reinsurance risk management, and lead the product management of data and analytics based applications as a part of a cloud-based platform, that helps manage catastrophic and man-made risks.

Our database production platform can take multiple raw data sources, performs a series of data analytics, and generates a “best confidence” database product. The output from this platform is used for data analytics and within our new risk management platform RMS(one), that is used by the P&C insurance and reinsurance companies worldwide. You will lead the integration of our databases and analytics within the new platform. You will also contribute to the database product and technology roadmap.

Note: It is a database product management position. Hence, it is NOT a project manager/software delivery manager/product marketing position.

Requirements:

- Product Management: At least 5 years of product management leadership of database production platform or database products, preferably with large databases and advanced data analytics. Experience of analyst and modelling intensive products, and collaboration in a multi-teams and multi-time zone environment, will be a big plus.

- Technology:

- A good understanding of database technologies, database production processes, and data analytics.

- Exposure to a wide range of database and analytics technologies (Emerging “Big Data” technologies; OLTP, DWH and BI environments; SQL Server Analysis and Reporting Services, ETL tools (Informatica/SSIS), Rules engines).

- Education: Masters or bachelors degree in engineering/science from a reputed institute is essential. Good academic credentials, product management, and technology certifications are highly desirable.

- Soft skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills are essential.

- Other: Property insurance, risk management, real estate, civil engineering industry knowledge/experience/qualifications are desirable, but not essential.

Responsibilities:

- Understand all of our different data customers (applications, engines, models, services, NextGen solution), their business/technical requirements and relative priorities

- Contribute to database product and technology roadmap

- Develop business case for third-party tools and new technologies

- Product management leadership and guidance to a team working on database production platform re-engineering

- Develop functional specs for the data analytics functionality in the RMS(one) platform, working closely with other member of the product management and development team

- Review of technical deliverables (project plan, QA plans and test cases, design documents, and technical specs)

- Work with production platform team and analytics team to recommend viable release scenarios, and contribute to the timely delivery of the production platform and database products
