The Opportunity:
Valuecart is seeking an entrepreneurial and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our cross-border business to new heights. This leadership role offers the chance to shape the future of a rapidly scaling business in a dynamic and exciting industry. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will drive growth, profitability, and innovation while ensuring operational excellence and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the annual business plan, aligning strategic initiatives with Valuecart's long-term vision.
- Take ownership of P&L, achieving aggressive growth and territory expansion while maintaining profitability.
Stakeholder Management:
- Forge and nurture relationships with international suppliers, logistics providers, payment gateways, and key partners.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including financial institutions and compliance authorities, to drive sustainable business growth.
Fundraising Expertise:
- Lead capital-raising initiatives to secure funding for future growth.
- Build relationships with investors, prepare compelling pitch materials, and lead discussions.
- Oversee due diligence and work closely with the Finance team or external consultants as needed.
Process Optimization:
- Ensure adherence to existing SOPs while identifying areas for improvement and developing new processes.
- Collaborate with the Technology team to enhance efficiency through process automation and innovative solutions.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay ahead of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and local laws in target markets.
- Work closely with Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams to navigate regulatory complexities.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Inspire and align the team with business goals, fostering a culture of collaboration, problem solving, and innovation.
- Minimize attrition in key roles and develop a robust second line of leadership.
Performance Reporting:
- Ensure timely and accurate MIS reporting with actionable insights for the Board of Directors.
- Partner with the Finance team to validate and analyze critical financial metrics.
Qualifications and Experience:
- MBA from a Tier-I institute, with a specialization in International Business preferred.
- 8-10 years of proven success in e-commerce, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a demonstrated ability to set and achieve ambitious targets.
- Experience leading teams of ~50 employees with a focus on people development.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and understanding of key e-commerce metrics.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of cross-border e-commerce and international trade regulations is highly desirable.
Location: Bangalore, with travel as required.
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience. For the right candidate, compensation is not a constraint.
