We are looking for a Risk & Underwriting for the Credit Card division of a Market Leader Fintech of India. The role will be responsible for managing the risk and underwriting processes to ensure the quality and profitability of our credit card portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement risk management strategies and underwriting policies for the credit card business, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Analyze and evaluate credit applications and creditworthiness of applicants, using statistical models, credit scoring, and other risk assessment techniques.
- Review and assess credit policies, procedures, and guidelines, making recommendations for improvements to enhance risk management and credit decision-making.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and develop strategies to mitigate potential credit losses.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and product teams, to develop credit card products and programs that align with risk appetite and profitability targets.
- Provide guidance and support to underwriting teams, ensuring accurate and consistent credit decisioning and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in the credit card market, and implement necessary changes to the risk management framework.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with external partners, such as credit bureaus and risk assessment agencies, to access relevant data and insights for credit decision-making.
- Prepare reports and presentations on portfolio performance, credit risk metrics, and underwriting trends for senior management and regulatory authorities.
- Lead special projects and initiatives related to risk and underwriting, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in credit risk management and underwriting.
- Deep understanding of credit card risk management principles, including credit scoring, underwriting processes, and portfolio management.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks related to credit card lending.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing credit risk strategies, policies, and underwriting guidelines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound credit decisions.
- Strong leadership and people management abilities, with experience in leading and developing teams.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in using risk management tools and systems, as well as data analysis software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering results within established timelines.
