Job Description
The material produced by this team will form the basis of submission to WCR (Wholesale Credit Risk) senior management and to regulators. An extremely high standard of accuracy and timeliness will be required. Questions about the material or requests for further material will need to be answered promptly. The incumbent will be expected to exercise initial quality assurance over the work of the team.
The incumbent has to:-
- Analyse the results, bring out the business interpretation of the results and explore better possibilities of coming with an alternate approach as per the requirement
- Coordinate and compile Wholesale Credit Risk stress test results and develop analysis to share with wider groups
- Collate, test and check independently sourced economics data (forecast and stress) and assess its robustness and fitness for purpose.
- Understand the trends of various economic parameters and delve into the possible reason for the change in those trends
- Support the evaluation of the reasonableness of the firm's efforts to translate broader economic stress scenarios into financial outcomes for its business lines/ portfolios
- Support model execution and on need basis support model development
- Automate the high volume processes supporting Group, Region and Site
- Support ad-hoc requests in support of the business as necessary
- Prepare effective material for dissemination to key business stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
- Drive standardization of analysis processes to gain efficiency
- Ensure the timeliness, accuracy and reasonableness of results produced by the process
- Review all WCR work streams developed/produced are of highest standard of accuracy
- Enhance WCR reporting and analytical processes to improve understanding of the drivers of stress test outcomes
- Develop effective relationship management with diverse functions and businesses
- Demonstrate a commitment to excel and perform to the highest standards
Skills/Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in numerate subject, e.g. mathematics/ statistics/ economics or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
- SAS knowledge is a must
- Technical skills of R, VBA, Python, tableau will be added advantage
- Risk knowledge will be added advantage
- Able to convert business needs into modeling needs. Experience on modeling tools and techniques and aware of recent advancements in the field
- Strong Quantitative background with knowledge of economic and econometric models
- Proven ability to produce clear summaries and reports from complex factual information, including both written documentation and graphical material
- Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
- Preferably, familiarity with a balance sheet and set of accounts
- Preferably, familiarity with bank stress testing including loss and risk estimation techniques is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in numerate subject, perhaps mathematics/ statistics/ economics or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with technical (the team) and non-technical (senior entity management around the globe) counterparts; being able to "translate" between the two worlds is the major thing in the day to day work.
- Proven ability to produce clear summaries and reports from complex factual information, including both written documentation and graphical material
- Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
