Risk Manager - Merchant Acquiring - Global Payments Firm - Contractual

Our client, a global payments consulting firm, is working on a significant project to upgrade their merchant acquiring risk management system. This initiative is part of a broader strategic effort to enhance the client's risk mitigation capabilities and align with regulatory standards.

They are seeking a highly experienced Risk Manager specialising in Merchant Acquiring to join their team in Mumbai. The role requires a deep understanding of risk management methodologies within the merchant acquiring sector, aiming to support the client's comprehensive risk management project.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and Review Risk Methodologies: Build or review a detailed acquiring risk methodology tailored for the client's merchant acquiring setup, ensuring alignment with the client's management team

- Design Risk Processes: Develop and review comprehensive risk processes specific to the bank's requirements and report progress regularly

- Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and devise mitigation strategies to ensure the project remains on track with the implementation plan

- Liaison with Stakeholders: Coordinate with various internal teams including risk operations, technology, compliance, and external third parties to ensure cohesive project execution

-Support Strategy Development: Assist the client in building and finalizing their risk management strategies and provide guidance on implementation approaches

Your Background:

- At least 10 of relevant experience in deploying/ managing merchant acquiring risk methodologies

- Proven risk expertise with elaborate setup and implementation experience in merchant acquiring domain

- Exceptional stakeholder management, project management and collaboration skills

- Be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills, with strong presentation and communications skills are essential

- Understand current market trends and developments pertaining to acquiring risk processes

- Experience of working in Bank / Payment aggregator firm or intermediary background

This is a contractual opportunity and will be on an initial 9-month contract with room for further extension. This project is based out of Mumbai, and the selected consultant would need to be onsite for the entirety of the project duration.
