Responsibilities :
1. Develop business strategies to raise our customers' pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability
2. Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to sales staff
3. Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service
4. Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
5. Maintain outstanding store condition and visual standards
6. Report on buying trends, customer needs, profits, etc
7. Propose innovative ideas to increase market share
8. Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths
9. Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances, etc)
10. Be a shining example of good behavior and high performance
11. Additional store manager duties as needed
12. Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees
13. Maintain store staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results
14. Prepare annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions
15. Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
16. Ensure the availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts; maintaining inventories
17. Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.
18. Market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
19. Secure merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
20. Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
21. Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
22. Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
23. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
24. Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing the program, operational and personnel policies and procedures.
25. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
26. Maintain inventory by implementing purchasing plans and staying in contact with vendors and shippers.
27. Develop a schedule of holiday activities and promotions throughout the year strategically designed to bring in more revenue.
28. Provide training to improve the knowledge base of the staff and utilize cross-training methods to maintain productivity when employees are absent.
29. Work with vendors and manufacturers to bring in effective marketing displays for the sales floor and store windows.
30. Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable.
31. Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control.
32. Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales.
33. Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning.
34. Deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development.
35. Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.
36. Respond to customer complaints and comments.
37. Organize special promotions, displays and events.
38. Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues.
39. Tour the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers to identify or resolve urgent issues.
40. Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing.
41. Initiate changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market.
42. Promote the organization locally by liaising with local schools, newspapers and the community in general.
Requirements :
- Excellent knowledge of management methods and techniques
- Proficiency in English
- Awareness of the industry's latest technology trends and applications
- Ability to think strategically and to lead
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
- Should be from retail, preferable from electronics
- Must have handled 50 crs plus turn over
