Research Associate - Investment Strategy

We want to develop quantitative investment strategies for capital markets in India. We are a global setup with around nearly 1000 employees working in the said domain thereby making us specialise in the same. We are seeking analysts who have excelled in their respective fields (mathematics, pure sciences, engineering, etc. with excellent finance knowledge) and/or finance domain experts including MBA, CA and CFA.

Research Analyst

- Research analysts will be part of the equity investment strategy. He / She will work very closely with the data and technology analysts allocated to them to develop the research infrastructure.

The responsibilities of the research analyst will include the following:

- Development of investment strategy to invest in Asian capital markets, based on fundamental and quantitative research of financial market data including equity research, derivatives instruments and structured products

- Identification of relevant financial market data sources

- Working with data and technology analysts to establish data links with various market data vendors as well as perform verification and clean up of relevant market data

- Conduct back testing of the investment strategy to establish validity over historical market periods

- Working with the trading team for execution of the investment strategy

Suitable candidates will generally have or exceed the following qualifications:

- MBA from Tier 1 universities / CA, CFA with relevant experience, or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Finance or similar disciplines from the Indian Institute of Technology with relevant finance exposure.

- 1 - 3 years of professional experience in quantitative fields.

Exceptional candidates fresh from college will also be considered

- Experience in quantitative equity research, research/development of equity factors like Value, Growth, Earnings quality, Momentum etc, would be a plus

- Knowledge of languages such as Python, VBA, C++, HTML would be plus though not mandatory with knowledge of Databases such as DataStream, Bloomberg, WorldScope, IBES etc. would be plus

- Ability to work independently in a team research environment and Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Should be a self starter and team player. Compensation would be as per the industry standards.
