JOB TITLE: Research Analyst
JOB PURPOSE
The Research Analyst is a challenging leadership position with the independent responsibility for acquiring and reporting on construction intelligence for an assigned geography.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Research Analyst must operate in line with the directives of his immediate manager and operate in accordance with the Company's Procedures, Policies, Standards and Quality Management System. The operational responsibilities of this position include:
Leadership - Meeting the operational and strategic research objectives for a defined territory.
- Responsibility for the overall quality of the databases for an assigned territory.
- Setting and achieving goals and targets based on the company's strategy, customer requirements and macroanalysis of the industry.
- Front line leadership in all activities undertaken including market research, processing and reporting.
- Developing and executing a plan to meet daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual quantitative and qualitative targets.
Data Acquisition - Cultivating and building relationships within the construction industry in the assigned territory to acquire information.
- Monitoring 3rd party information sources.
- Organizing and monitoring data acquisition processes, programs and campaigns.
Data Processing - Ensuring the timely and efficient processing of data to provide the greatest depth and breath of construction intelligence for the assigned territory.
Analysis & Reporting - Ensuring timely and accurate replies to queries pertaining to information records within the assigned territory.
- Staying updated on construction industry developments within the assigned territory to serve as a subject matter expert.
- Making internal and external presentations on the assigned sector/industry and providing reports as required.
Quality Management - Improving the processes in the data cycle as well as the accuracy, depth and presentation and accuracy of data through a systematic process of continual improvement that is in line with the company's quality management system.
- Documenting procedures, work instructions, techniques and best practices.
- Conducting time-studies to set expectations and performance targets.
Maintaining professional and industry knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; attending industry events and participating in professional societies.
In addition to the above the Employee is expected to complete any other tasks as assigned by his / her Manager.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/QUALITIES:
- Must be independent, confident, and self-driven.
- Must be an intelligent thought leader capable of extracting industry insights to turn data into business intelligence.
- Should have excellent oral and written communication, presentation skills, analytical abilities, people management and interpersonal skills.
- A solid understanding of the socio-economic and cultural history of the Middle East in context of current affairs.
- An indept understanding understanding of the construction industry.
- Should have proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases and other analytic tools.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATION
- Bachelors Degree in Economics and Masters Degree in Business Administration
- Minimum 3 years experience in industry-focused market research.
- 3+ years experience with a leading management consultancy firm.
- A track record of publishing market studies and industry analysis.
- Experienced in presenting industry reports and analysis to industry audiences at seminars and conferences.
