If you have a successful track record in building a consumer web platform with focus on content, data science and transactions using emerging technologies and open source technology stack and you played a significant role in coding from scratch to launch, then we should definitely explore.

At Rentomojo, there is a serious growth and leadership opportunity to build a multi billion dollar international brand in short few years. We are going to be a small and tight team. You must be hands on and are willing to do whatever is necessary to execute on a leadership role.

This position will take the lead role in product development and work alongside the CEO and future management hires in the tech and data science team. Ability to lead with opinion about product strategy and prioritization with effective delivery of features and functionalities on a consumer web platform using modern open source technology stack is key to success in this role.

Near Term Company Goals :

- Build and launch the product roadmap and triple the active subscriber base in the next 4 months

- 6 cities in the next 6 months

- Series B round in the next 4 months

- Build an Innovation Culture to solve difficult problems and not become me too.

Job Responsibilities :

Build Go to Market Web Platform :

- Write flawless programs fast and efficiently while supporting overall objectives of the Company to deliver a world class product

- Execute an alternative mobile first launch approach.

- Simplify the complex wish lists into actionable plan, limit scope and execute on daily, weekly and monthly release of features and functionalities that can help consumers and business.

Develop and Execute on Product Roadmap :

- Freeze tech stack after evaluating current development, company needs and collective skills. In view of building a platform that can render at a faster speed and do calculations at run time. Review, recommend and agree on a set of technologies and tools that are ideal at the current stage and provide perspectives on future changes.

- Gather business requirements in as much detail as practically feasible and engage the team to build detail technical specs. Build specs where necessary to establish detail and yet practical clarity on first few versions of the product.

- Develop pragmatic roadmap considering current availability of resources, constraints and possible financing in a reasonable time frame.

- Develop detail application specifications that are being scheduled to be developed from now till a month to the very least.

- Author technology strategy presentation and related documentation necessary to provide higher level of confidence to investors and stakeholders such as large partners.

Build Serious Platform Architecture :

- Expand on the current limited architecture in the context of the overall business plan and vision.

- Build a comprehensive architecture that takes into account a lot of data science objectives and long term vision for scalability.

- Review and modify the architecture over time based on changes to plans, challenges and opportunities that may be presented.

- Develop high level functional and design architectures and engage the senior team to develop detail architecture that can help small teams code with significant clarity

Build Engineering Expertise :

- Drive culture of collaboration and communication while breaking the barriers of local practices. Ensure that the team uses simple cloud communication tools to write and communicate ideas, plan and follow through.

- Develop horizontal expertise in Mobile, Global Payments, Machine Learning, Social Media and Gamification.

- Facilitate efficient remote work by developers when needed to mitigate attrition risks

- Develop micro job descriptions and skill needs and consider engaging talent that can deliver specific needs

- Develop an outstanding front end engineering team which is key to build a successful consumer web company.

Present in Investor Meetings :

- Build quick demos and tools that can scale to present to a geographically distributed target investors.

- Articulate the uniqueness of our platform with depth of technology when needed in VC / Investor meetings.

- Present longer term vision and road map supporting our vision and articulate clear plans to get there.

- Articulate roughly a dozen or so patentable ideas with clear articulation and illustration to ensure that such ideas can be developed within budget without much technology risks.
