Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the development of novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state of the art in document and text extraction, image recognition, object identification, and visual recognition.
- Oversee a team of R&D and machine learning engineers to implement algorithms that power user and developer-facing products.
- Measure and optimize the quality of developed algorithms, ensuring they meet performance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate algorithms into products and solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the data science team.
- Drive strategic initiatives in data science, contributing to the overall vision and direction of the company.
Mandatory Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Python programming in the Linux environment.
- Strong programming skills with multi-threaded GPUs.
- Proven experience in applying machine learning and computer vision principles to real-world data, specifically working with scanned and documented images.
- Solid foundation in computer science, math, and statistics fundamentals (algorithms and data structures, meshing, sampling theory, linear algebra, etc.
- Expertise in data science technologies such as Python, Pandas, Scipy, Numpy, matplotlib, etc.
- Extensive knowledge in computer vision (construction, feature detection, segmentation, classification) and machine/deep learning (algorithm evaluation, preparation, analysis, modeling, and execution).
- Familiarity with Open CV, Yolo, Capsule Network, or similar, and open-source AR platforms and products.
- Profound knowledge of Seq2Seq, temporal classification, Opencv, etc.
- Logical acumen for generating real-time datasets.
- Experience working with unstructured documents is an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and logical skills.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Well-versed in software design paradigms and good development practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Vision, or a related field with specialization in image processing or machine learning.
- MBA will be a plus.
- 5-8 years of industry experience in data science, including computer vision, LLM & ML.
- Research experience in deep learning models for image processing or OCR-related fields is preferred.
- Publication record in deep learning models for computer vision conferences/journals is a plus.
- Background in research institutes or having research experience or a PhD with a focus on R&D is highly desirable
