Description of the role:
- We are looking for an Engineering Team Leader to lead and fully own the development and delivery of multiple products.
- To be successful in this role, you should be confident in managing your teams while, at the same time, setting goals and timelines for various projects.
- You will also be responsible for integrations with external partners and oversee all software development plans from ideation to execution to testing to release.
- In this role, you will be required to coordinate with Insurer partners and cross functional stakeholders, manage multiple teams, closely work with the Product Management team and work closely with Software Architects.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple development teams containing Frontend, Backend, QA, Devops engineers, Scrum masters and Tech leads.
- Full adherence of teams to Scrum methodology.
- Deliver high quality products in a committed time frame.
- Be invested in the development of all your team members.
- Ensure product compliance with security regulations.
- Monitor reliability and performance of your applications.
- Run your teams on a budget by optimizing the utilization of engineers.
- Design strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources.
- Hire engineers and work to fulfill their training needs.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders for new integrations and tools.
- Innovate on both Products as well Processes.
Technical Competencies:
- Solid understanding of product development in Insurtech/Fintech space.
- Has a product mindset and thinks of developing products as SaaS.
- Should have worked on transactional applications.
- Very good understanding of AWS technologies like EC2, RDS, SQS, ElasticSearch, ELB.
- Past hands-on experience with Python, Django, Postgresql, MySQL, Docker.
- Excellent understanding of Angular or React.
- Excellent understanding of and experience with Service Based Architectures.
- Experience with caching and SQL optimisation techniques.
- Solid understanding of REST conventions and concepts.
